The costs for the production of 1 kg (kilogram) active chlorine in an electrolysis unit are much lower than the prices for chlorine gas, chlorine bleaching and granulated material of chlorine.

The transport, storage and handling of these dangerous chemicals such as chlorine gas, liquid chlorine, chlorine bleaching and hydrochloric acid is dropped. So the danger of accident is reduced considerably.

Electrolysis units for the production of sodium hypochlorite (NaOCl) and chlorine dioxide (ClO2) can be installed in the area of water treatment according to official regulations.

Separate rooms and specific safety equipment are not necessary. That is a big advantage in comparison to chlorine gas plants and the production of chlorine dioxide using chlorine gas.

Sodium hypochlorite (NaOCl) which is produced by electrolysis of sodium chloride (NaCl) will be only produced according to requirements. A loss of active chlorine attributable to longer storage and decay is absolutely impossible.
